Crispy Cat candy bars...

So a few days ago a cardboard box arrives and inside a bunch of Crispy Cat Candy Bars. OH MY GOD!! Have you tried these? As most of you know I'm not really into sweets but I've eaten 8 of these already and I CAN'T STOP MYSELF! I'm not sure if they're available in Canada but holy mother of god grab your credit card, run to your internet and order some.

My fav is the Mint Coconut which is followed by the Roasted Peanut.... CONGRATS to the 3 winners!!

Fergus also had fun shopping with us.

Then I came home and relaxed by organizing my sock drawer.

Thanks to everyone who helped me get ahold of my Mum's tv show for CBC. I got the dvd's the other day and it was thrilling to watch. I can't youtube them (they belong to the CBC) but thank you again to everyone who helped me track them down.

So many boxes ...

Geez Louise.
Things are starting to shape up but there is still SO MANY MORE BOXES!! I never want to see a cardboard box again.

The office does not look like an office right now. I gotta get this room in shape because my niece is coming for a visit in a few days and then after she leaves our friends The Germans are coming to live with us for a month. Eeeep! There are just not enough hours in the day!!

Fergus is so sick of me unpacking... can you find him? Set up the dining room table today... ahhhhh... now I just need to find a great hanging light.
I'm so happy to pull out my vintage tri-light from storage. Our last place the ceilings were too high for my lamp. Weee!Kitchen is the catch-all room right now... man it's ugly.
The best part of the house is the laundry area. Gerry's parents VERY KINDLY purchased us a new washer/dryer set. God it's so beautiful. We sat on the floor and watched it as it did it's first cycle.
Off to tackle the office... if you don't hear from me in a few days - send Lassie!

I need a good hanging light/lamp for the dining room... any ideas? I would love one of these... but who has that kind of dosh?

Weeee!

Dropped off a few boxes tonight and also went to check the work the guys did today. It's looking GREAT!! The living/dining room area is done and they're working on the hallway. I'm not going to show you what it looks like yet till it's all done... but believe me... it looks grand!

On the way home tonight we were driving through downtown and I saw a group of kids on the corner getting really excited about us. I thought they were pointing and jumping up and down because of the smartcar. American tourists (and we get our fair share in the summer) tend to lose their shit when they see the car ... so as we drove by the group one of the girls was jumping up and down all excited and pointed at me and yelled "OH MY GOD! SARAH KRAMER!!"

Totally made my night.

My arms!!!

My arms are so tired from scraping, painting and all the general scooping, stooping and lifting. Wowzers. I better have some serious muscle definition when we're done all these renos or I'll be pissed. :)

Our new flooring arrived yesterday... I can't wait to get it down. It's going to look FABU!

Doesn't look like much happened in here... but it really has. Lots of filling, painting and then painting the doors. *note to self* Painting doors sucks...
And then in the office say good-bye to dusty rose and hello to 06795. The color we had made has no fancy name. I like to call it a warm creamy white.

When you do renos do you ever look at what you're doing and think... there is no way we are ever going to be finished. I think renovation fatigue is starting to set in...Off to finish the painting but today I'm working solo... Gerry's at work and Fergus is such a lazy sod he just sits on his doggie pillow and watches me paint. What a diva.

What a morning!!

Got the keys at 9am and by 11:30 we were done ripping up the carpets. Gerry and I are such a team!! We were lucky that the under stuff wasn't really glued down.

We're also lucky to have good friends with a dumpster!! Thanks Stu & Sherri-Lynn!Fergus found a safe spot to hide during all the renos.
I forgot to show you Gerry's mustache. He wasn't going to shave his beard until we got the keys to the condo... you know... like a playoff beard but it drove him crazy so he shaved it down to a mustache. I feel like I'm sleeping with a cop. *laugh*
Someone has settled into the new house quite nicely...

TODAY!

Today is the day!! Dominque is coming over at 9am to give us the keys to the new place. I'm DYING to get in there!!

In other news Fergus only coughed once during the night. He's on the mend. :)

Little update

Took Fergus to the vet. He does have Kennel Cough but the vet said that last nights episodes of coughing will probably the worst of it... he's hardly coughed this afternoon and now we're both going to take a nap because last night was exhausting.

Poor little guy.

I think poor Fergus has Kennel Cough... we're going to see the vet at noon.

Anyone have any paint/hardware store discounts they want to throw my way?? How about a discount at Graham & Brown?? Ikea? Restoration Hardware? Home Depot?? Anyone?? How about a company/store discount on major appliances??

So I'm about 3/4 of the way packed. I packed up all the things we won't need until after we're in the new place and it makes you wonder... do I really need all this crap? *laugh*
I don't know why... but after a year of living here Fergus has suddenly decided that he likes to lay out on the patio. He is so sick of me and my camera...When I was packing there was an unexpected knock on my door. One of my neighbours is starting a vegan baking company and she wanted to give me some cupcakes to try. NICE! Life is good!!

I'd love to find a couple of Solair Chairs for the patio. Anyone have one or seen any for sale... I'll make it worth your while!! :)
