Waaaaahhhhh!

Just heard the news from a friend that one of my favourite buildings in my home-town of Regina is no longer there. Why does it make me so sad? It's just a building... God I'm crushed.

I guess I like knowing that these places from my past are still intact and I can use them like a touchstone to remind me of things that are long forgotten. Le Sigh. Good Bye past ... hello tomorrow.

"Sarah, This past weekend I had my very first "Stitch n Bitch" party where I instructed my friends on how to make sock monkeys. Money is super tight this year so I've decided to make all my loved ones a sock monkey. They are coming out really freaking cute! I'm using argile socks and polka dot socks and mix n matching, they're amazing. My friends had a blast too! Many of them had never sewn before, so it was quite an experience. We laughed all night, most of the time making fun of one another, but it was great and I'm looking forward to doing it again in a few months."

I keep forgetting to put these up on the website... but I have these new aprons that I made for the Toronto Veg Fair and I have a few left. It would make a great holiday or "just because I love you" present! I currently only have 6 (I will update this page as they sell) of them left, so rather then put them on the website I'll give you faithful readers a chance to grab them ... the first 15 people to e-mail me will be sent a paypal invoice for $25 usd. So as most of you know, I am involved with producing and performing in The Vagina Monologues and we are currently fund raising for the event (money will be going to the Womans Transition house here in Victoria).

I dunno about you but I'm not an internet reader... I'm a skimmer... mostly I use the internet to prove to Gerry that I'm correct by using The Google to win an argument. So reading all the new Herbivore Issues online has been uncomfortable for me. *laugh* But now I have an actual print form magazine to read again!! So happy to sit and read something on my couch!! Woot!!

what a day....

We did a quick and dirty reno in the kitchen today to accommodate Samantha who will be officially plugged in tomorrow. We moved the counter/cupboards over to the corner of kitchen where the stove used to be.So that meant cleaning out the cupboards .... ugh.And removing some tile...And sliding some things around.Gerry found a fun little surprise underneath the cupboards. YOWZA! Now that's the kind of 70's lino I like. Too bad it's just a tiny little strip of it... cause this kitchen could be all kinds of wow with that foor.Fergus ... of course found a comfortable? spot to hang out.Now I have a free stove to get rid of. Anyone in Victoria want a free stove? Everything works except the clock.

Samantha is doing great...

Well last night Ken came over to check out Samantha and I think it was love at first sight. He's been with many Frigidaire Flairs but not like Samantha.

So the first thing he did was take her top off! But he's a gentleman, he just wanted to get to know her brain. She's got a lot going on up there.
All the wires looked good ...Then he checked out her backside... He tried turning her on ... and she got RED HOT and responded right away! All burners burning and she was ready to go! Even Fergus was intrigued.I left them alone for a while because things got kind of intimate between them.Then it was time to check out her headlights...

Ken showed us a feature that I didn't even know about... not only do the doors open like a Lamborghini but they also pop open. We're not sure why... maybe it's to cool off the oven? Or to make it easier to clean the inside window. I'm going to do some investigating and find out.So she's almost good to go! Ken has to come back and give her a new plug (the one he brought last night wasn't correct). He's going to upgrade a few wires and most important he's going to calibrate the ovens so that they are perfectly correct!!

So by next Tuesday Samantha and I can start cooking!
