Yet it does seem to be a little weaker than regular hardwoods, but I'd do it again.

Two other environmentally friendlier options you can do are cork, which I think is way cool, it can even be stained different colors, but it's probably not as hard either, and I don't know if it can be sanded again, there's a couple things to check on for ya'.

I also did come across Lyptus yesterday (how funny) and it's from Euca"lyptus". It looks like it might be more expensive but it seems pretty durable and is supposed to be much greener too, and is very pretty.

I personally despise laminates, but there are some cooler ones out there, just be sure if you use it that the print you buy is consistent with the "grain". Otherwise it's like looking at a fish tank dizzy. And my guess is it probably won't last as long, isn't as green, and I know it CAN'T be sanded.

Good Luck!
CindyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15332485.post-83190384315387826022007-06-26T18:06:00.000-07:002007-06-26T18:06:00.000-07:00Ooooooh... gonna be SO rad!Ooooooh... gonna be SO rad!KleoPatrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15870163086087701279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15332485.post-87730981677971839732007-06-26T16:15:00.000-07:002007-06-26T16:15:00.000-07:00have you thought about bamboo? its a little more g...have you thought about bamboo? its a little more green than some of the other options out there (bamboo grows really fast). it comes in tiles similar to laminated flooring so if it gets cut you can replace sections. it looks really great. just make sure you don't get endgrain: it tends to wear too quickly in high traffic areas.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15332485.post-75983855585553324232007-06-26T15:50:00.000-07:002007-06-26T15:50:00.000-07:00bamboo! that's what we're planning to do in the n...bamboo! that's what we're planning to do in the next year.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15332485.post-14629869544708797832007-06-26T14:40:00.000-07:002007-06-26T14:40:00.000-07:00I'm a huge fan of cork. It's beautiful, durable, wa...I'm a huge fan of cork.

It's beautiful, durable, warm on the feet, and if you're a klutz like me, things don't break super easy.

~AAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15332485.post-5929274123260499252007-06-26T10:01:00.000-07:002007-06-26T10:01:00.000-07:00I've done my entire house in laminate flooring and...I've done my entire house in laminate flooring and it's super easy. If you're doing it in a kitchen or other area that may have contact with water and the floor you'll need to glue the sections, if not you just put them together like a puzzle basically. You'll need a chop saw, pencil, and the spacer kit. The only time consuming part is figuring out where to start based on angles, toe-kicks, heating registers, etc.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15332485.post-44899988817850328122007-06-26T09:30:00.000-07:002007-06-26T09:30:00.000-07:00My brother put in that laminate flooring that just...My brother put in that laminate flooring that just clicks together when he bought his condo. He loves it, it looks great and is easy to look after. It looks a Hella'malot better than that carpeting in the previous pictures you posted(but then, I hate carpeting, have allergies), and you're right about doing it "before" you move in!
-SandraAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
