When I was about 10, one of my aunts lived in Kentucky near his "proper" restaurant, The Colonel's Lady, and we all went there for dinner a couple of times. On one occasion, there was this old, old, old man with a cane in a Hawaiian print shirt going round all the tables with children. I had no idea who he was till he asked me my name and gave me a little autographed card.
