So I woke up with a cold sore!
Yes... yes... I get cold sores. Lots of people do. Don't judge me.
I thought I had this cold sore thing figured out. I seem to only get them after I have a head cold (rundown/stress/etc). So my last headcold I took really good care of myself, took lysine, ate really well etc etc... and it paid off. No cold sore. YAY!
Well woke up today with a festering sore on the side of my face! Huh? No warning. No tingling. No stress. I'm not rundown. In fact this last month I've been seeing a new naturopath and I've been feeling really fanastic the last couple of weeks. So what gives Mr. Cold Sore? Why you gotta play me like that?
Anyone have any CS tips??
I'm going into hiding until my face looks pretty again.

Maybe you got it from kissing Heidi. She had one that was just starting to heal up when she left on her trip.
Don't open your mouth... it cracks and hurts like hell... as I am sure you know.
REALLY?? Damn.
I bet that's where I got it. We were kissing soooo much. Kissing and hugging and drinking and swearing.
Ooops. No swearing. Just kidding.
funny.
ha ha ha.
My mom gets those, especially in spring...Usually she puts cream on it and it goes away faster.
GOLDENSEAL!!!!!
Goldenseal on... or in?? :)
Clove oil is sposed to work for canker sores. I'll also heard Evening Primrose Oil on the sore. For non-natural, Abreva is sposed to work wonders!
Just a question like that. If you know you have a sore that's healing. Would it not be courtesy to let the person you are kissing know you could be exposed to it? That's not really cool.
Kudos on being open on the Cold Sore, Sarah. It takes alot of courage. I know a few people who are afflicted by it. =/ It's not fun. I hope it heals fast and that it doesn't keep you from smiling. It's such a beautiful smile, it would be ashame to keep it from being seen.
My niece is just a little kid... she doesn't know any better. :)
I'm actually going to go outside today and let the world see my festering face. *laugh*
Here's a cold sore tip. Don't eat peanut butter at the first sign of the cs and until it's gone. Something in pb makes it flare up worse than ever, says my nurse friend.
GSE for everything!
Didn't know it was your niece :p *feels like moron*
Don't sweat it. :)
