NY Times

A very interesting read.

In other news... I watched Year of The Dog last night. I rented it for 2 reasons. 1. Molly Shannon. 2. Dogs. I had no idea it was about a woman discovering veganism. Have you guys seen it? What did you think?

That article reminded me of "My Year of Meats" by Ruth Ozeki. It's an interesting read, a novel based on the meat industry in America.

Big disappointment! Molly Shannon is usually so funny...I gave this flick two thumbs down!

I told you to watch that film like 4 months ago. I love that movie!

I thought the movie was a little over-the-top, but I still enjoyed it. I think many of us vegans felt similarly at one point or another; even though we probably didn't act on our impulses in such an extreme way.

I related to many of the steps along the way, especially serving a delicious non animal product treat and as soon as you mention the word vegan people literally puke it into their hands. Or mention that vegan food makes them sick. I believe I loved the first half of the movie but it got a bit weird near the end to where I wouldn't reccommend it. Its been awhile though, so I don't exactly remember why!

i saw it too and also had no idea about the vegan story line. it made me cry because it reminded me of how it was when i first went vegan, like whatever i did wasn't enough and why was it people wouldn't change after i informed them about what was going on to animals? it was a very depressing time for me. fortunately now i realize what people do is their own decision, as long as my little family is trying to do the right thing, i am a-ok!

oddly, i rented it for the same 2 reasons, also having no clue it covered the topic of veganism.
