Veganism is the new diet ...

Every year I pick up my niece (who's visiting her Mum in Vancouver for the summer) and ferry her over to Victoria for a few days of fun and frivolities.

Picking her up on the ferry is always a bit of a hassle. It's 2 ferry rides in 1 day... so that's usually about 4 hours there and back. It's a long day but ... this time it was a long drawn out drag. The propeller on the boat broke and they had to take an alternate route to get us safely to the harbor. So instead of arriving at 10:30am to meet her... I arrived at 1:10pm. Ugh. It was soooo boring. Then we had to wait for the 2pm ferry to get back to the island.
Thankfully it was a nice day ... but still so boring...I think my total travel time that day was 8 hours.

On the positive side of things it gave me a chance to catch up with my pal Oprah and her "new" diet.
While the article's tag lines were all about losing weight and how to feel full and lose weight and how to feel better and did I say lose weight? The article actually was well written and they even interviewed Dr. Neil Barnard and provided some recipes that sounded pretty yum. I'm not sure how I feel about Veganism being the new "diet" but I'm also kind of interested to see what happens next in regards to vegans and pop culture.

In other news ... my niece and I had a lot of fun that involved Fergus, wearing wigs and being silly.

Did I mention being silly? Ahhhh. She's a chip off the old block and one of my favourite people in the whole world. :)

Wanna' come my house and be silly!!!! Or can I come your house??? I NEED a good dose of sillyness. :)
If you came to my house, maybe you could talk to my brother about the dangers of the Atkin's diet. I doubt it would work, it's like talking to a BRICK WALL!!!
