Worth a shot...

Can anyone get me a deal on a hotel in Toronto?? :)

Will update soon, poor Gerry is sick as a dog and we all know that men need a lot of attention when they're sick.

Dear Andy...

Let me unpack my bags and do some laundry and then I'll post about the rest of my trip. :)

HOME!

We're home!
Time for a nap...

wooooooooooooo

What a fun crazy night!! I'll tell ya'll all about it later.

I doubt I'll be on camera... but I was on the main floor about 4th or 5th row up from the front. They did a couple of audience sweeps so keep your eyes peeled!! :)

No more blogs from me until I get home Thursday.
Peace out.

Letterman

I will be wearing my red and black SSOV shirt... so look for me in the crowd! Maybe you'll see me when they sweep the audience!!

Whirl wind day...

Got up early and hit The Moma. Looked at some art...
And some more art...
And some more art...
And some naughty art...
Then we hit the subway and headed to Red Bamboo for lunch. YUM! We had "fish sticks".

And "buffalo wings"
And I had a salad. Gotta eat my greens! :)

Then we headed back uptown to hit some stores. I went to H&M and Gerry went to his favourite secret bookstore for tattoo reference.

We came back to the hotel and had a little rest and tried to decide where to eat dinner. Feeling like we overdid the "fake meat" meal earlier in the day we decided to eat raw. Couldn't decide between Pure Food And Wine or Quintessence so we tossed a quarter and hit the subway again and headed to Quintessence.

What a lovely little restaurant. VERY small (maybe serves 20 people) ... the food was fantastic.

We shared a Corn Tostada with Salsa & Sour Cream.
Gerry had the Spinach “Gnocchi” on Pasta Alfredo
And I had an Indian Platter.
For dessert we had a tester plate that had Pecan Pie, Banana Coconut Cream Pie, Tiramisu and Chia Seed Pudding.
What a great day. I'm so sad that tomorrow is our last day here... I wish we could stay for a month and really get to know this city.

OH YEAH!
Leigh took this "candid" photo of me during the book signing and I forgot to post it. I thought it was funny... I just can't stop doing "The Fonzie"... what's wrong with me??

I AM BUSHED!

Time for bed... I wanna be bright eyed and busy tailed for Dave tomorrow!

For those of you asking...

Alan Kalter is the announcer of The Late Show. :)

Oh yeah...

I forgot to say that the skill testing question for Letterman was what does Allan Kalter do for the Late Show... So Ger and I go see Dave on Monday and Jim Carrey is the guest. Should be a good one!!

Moo Shoes ROCKS!

We got up pretty early today and had plans to do The Moma but got sucked into Times Square where all time stops and you're unable to do anything but walk like a zombie and bump into other people. Ahhh....

We finally got outta there and sat in St. Patricks Cathedral and just chilled. That place is so huge you can't even understand how big it is, even when you're staring right at it.

Gerry was a little gobsmacked as well...
We walked by Rockefeller Center and watched the skaters...

Then we hit the subway and headed to Moo Shoes for the book signing. The girls always know how to throw a good party and they had treats from Vegan Treats for everyone to sample. Gerry kinda over did it and ended up with a sugar hang-over.

I got to meet some fantastic people.

And my friend Leigh came and brought Fergus a present... Such a sweetie!!
And I FINALLY got to meet Isa and Terry (not in the photo) from PPK in person. Isa and I have been e-mail buddies for years, but have never met before. She's a doll.

I also hung out a little with Bowery the Moo Shoes cat... but not too close cause he'll scratch your eyes out if you get too cosy with him. I also hung with Helen or is it Edith? Oh no. I can't remember her name... either way, I love her.
And then Gerry and Isa had a Herbivore Clothing moment... it could have been embarrassing wearing the same outfit to a party, but they both took it in stride and made the best of it.

By the end of the day I felt like this... who is this? I can't tell the black and white ones apart... :)

So now we're going to bed. It's 9:34pm on a Saturday night in NYC and I'm going to bed. I am such a loser.

THANK YOU ERICA, SARAH, JUSTIN, TOM and all the staff at Moo Shoes! You made today sooo much fun.

Today

This morning we hit the bricks and headed to Teany for breaky... yummy as usual! I was a little disappointed to see they have Goat Cheese on their menu... but...
Then we hit The Guggenheim. God I love that building... Every single corner of that building is so well designed. The semi-circle elevator. The curved bathrooms. The beautifully shaped phone booths. It's such a crazy building... go for the art, but you'll stay for the building. If you get a chance to explore this building... do it.

Then we hit Candle Cafe for Lunch. Gerry had Porcini Crusted Seitan.
I had The Paradise Casserole, black beans, sweet potatoes, greens and some kind of grain underneath (can't remember). It was so yum and warned me up... it's SO COLD HERE!!
Gerry had Chocolate Peanut Butter thingy with Leche Soy Icecream... YUM! He dug into it before I got a chance to take a pic of it.
Then we hit The Empire State Building right at sunset. Boy howdy was it ever lovely...
We are such dorks...

Then we met The Moo Shoes girls and their hubbys for dinner at Franchia for dinner. I don't even know what we ate but was it ever fantastic!!

Fried Dumpling thingies!

Faux Lobster Balls!
Sushi Rolls w/faux tuna, crunch tofu & faux california roll.
Vegan Cheesecake!!
Mucci!! YUM!

I'm so tired.
I have no words... so much walking. So many things to look at. Time for bed.

Don't forget to come hang out with me tomorrow at Moo Shoes! I'll be there at 3pm. Don't leave me hanging!!
Well our flight was pretty uneventful. Just lots of hurry up and waiting... this girl had the cutest sign in her lap, I just had to take a shot of her.
And then we waited some more... but at least we were together. Makes things much easier....

And it wouldn't be a day in the life of Sarah Kramer without a Go-Go's moment... on the plane I had a personal tv/music/movie tv thingy... and I listened to the entire Purple Rain album (woo hoo) and then found an acoustic version of Our Lips are Sealed sung by Jane Wiedlin. I was stoked.
When we landed the amount of luggage blocking the conveyor was staggering. Gerry had to climb a mountain of bags to get to our stuff. It was nuts.

We got in to NYC about 2 hours later then we were expecting... so going to Red Bamboo for dinner was out. We ended up just hitting the sheets in our King Sized bed and fell asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillow.
Oh yeah. Our bathroom is so small it made me laugh out loud... I don't think I've ever seen a bathtub this small in my life. I'm 5 foot 1. I can't imagine what it would be like for a normal sized person to bathe in there.

We're here!

We're here. Our hotel room is on the 50th floor. YIKES! It looks down on Times Square.... No time to chat... We have a city to explore.

Off we go - part 2

Woke up around 8am and had a nice leisurely breakfast in Stac & Molly's fantastic kitchen.
They have this rad old vintage stove ... called... THE GRILLEVATOR!!
Molly made cement counters for the kitchen and they are so freaking beautiful.

Even added a little pretty focal point with some scrap metal... I'm in love wit these counters!
Called a cab and here I sit in the airport waiting for our flight. Gerry is peeing right now. He pees a lot. I think it's all the coffee.... our flight is in a few minutes. See you in NY!!
