I'm old...
I got tattoo'd today and totally tapped out after the outline... why does getting tattoo'd hurt so much more now that I'm older?? No photos for you today, I'm afraid ... you'll have to wait till I get it colored. *oh Jesus*
We did a few more renos this week. By "we" I mean Gerry put in a new fan in my bathroom and now when I take a bath it's no longer a tropical rain forest in there... it's now bone dry. YAY! He also fixed the ball/cock. *hee hee* The toilet now runs like a dream!
In other news... no news. Just chillin and enjoying the quiet.

Yowza
What a crazy couple of days... just when I thought I had nothing left to blog, my life gets busy.
Yesterday our friend Munk and his girlfriend Sam gave us a lovely present before they left back for Vancouver. A DIY ice swan making kit!! HOW FREAKING COOL!!
I forgot to make a stand for the swan so it sat in a baking tray... not very sexy but a fun centerpiece anyway. 
We ate the tomato peanut soup from LDV 
and were SO STUFFED by the end that we could hardly eat dessert... but we managed. :)
Today Gerry and I were very crafty. We devised a rack for my photography paper to hang when I shoot in my studio. I haven't done any photography since we moved in here ... so I'm jonesing to break my new studio in!! 
And what to do with left-over wallpaper?? Well I re-covered one of the dining room chairs with it. 1 down. 3 more to go.
All in all it was a fun crafty day with hubby... And Fergus? He watched us from his abode.

I'm doing some work with The Vagina Monologues this year. If you're in Victoria and you'd like to audition for the play then read the info below!!
Have you seen it? Read it? We know you've heard of it. Ever dreamed of being IN it? Now is your chance!
We can swear on our vaginas that this will be an experience that you will treasure for the rest of your life! It will transform the way you think about your body, other bodies, about the media, about sexual violence, about the lived experiences of women and girls throughout the world; you will form invincible bonds with other women that will last forever, you will laugh and cry, and your connection with your own beautiful vagina will flourish!
If you're looking for something fresh, exciting, and important to get involved with then come on out to UVic next week for an audition~ The vibe is totally casual; we simply want to hear/see you read a monologue (of your choice or to be provided) and if you display passion, energy, and appear to fit with a monologue, then you're in! There are approximately 20 parts, as well as several VERY significant and fabulous behind-the-scenes positions available.
Some enticing details:
*The show will be held at the beautiful McPherson Playhouse February 2008
*All of the proceeds will be donated to the Victoria Women's Transition House ~ a local agency providing shelter and support to women and children fleeing abusive partners (as well as offering several important programs)
*We have already begun to mark out a strong community of supporters, local talent, and media and this will only bloom larger and larger

Lemon Meringue Pie
I am freakin LOVING 7th Generation's Lemon scent dishwasher gel. It makes my kitchen smell like a lemon meringue pie! Yummers!In other news... not much going on over here in Kramerica. Just getting the house ready for another house guest. Our pal Munk from Vancouver is doing a week long guest spot at The Zoo.
I organized my linen closet the other day. *laugh* It was the most fun I've had in months. Everything is all lined up and orderly... ahhhh. Now to tackle the storage locker downstairs. I haven't been down there since we moved.

I just watched the Square Pegs episode when DEVO comes and plays at Muffy Tepperman Bas Mitzvah. So awesome...am I the only one on the planet who remembers this show?

Rob was right!!
Last night Rob suggested that we take down the tall pantry cupboard so I would have more room for my red cabinet. I'm not one to willingly give up cupboard space but I spent the day re-arranging the cupboards and realized that without the pantry I still have plenty of space for stuff. So down it came and in moved my red cabinet.

kitchen...
Well my kitchen is still butt ugly and I haven't done a single thing to change it. I've been too busy hanging wallpaper and painting bathrooms. I'll get to it eventually but for now I am still trying to figure out where everything goes. I think I've moved the microwave to 3 different locations but I think it's in the right spot now.
Now I'm trying to figure out where the food/glasses/plates go. I seriously can't figure it out. I've moved the cutlery like 10 times. We've been eating really simply since we moved in because I have no time for anything elaborate. Lots of beans & rice and steamed veggies.
I did make the tomato peanut soup from LDV the other day. I forgot how YUM that recipe is... perfect for these cold fall days we've been having.
And of course my favourite salad in LDV thanks to Auntie Bonnie.
I can't wait till we gut the kitchen and re-configure it. I need more money. MORE MONEY!! Maybe it's time to sell my Spice Girl dolls... hmmmm.

Dinner
Had our first dinner party last night with our friends Rob, Wendy and Fergus's girfriend Suzi. I made a little something out of each book. The photos are blurry ... cause I took them in a hurry. I was HUNGRY!! *laugh*

The sprouts and beans were a little under cooked but I didn't say anything because my therapist wants me to stop apologizing when my food isn't perfect. *laugh* Sorry guys!!

Seriously??
Where is the customer service? Where has it gone?? When I worked retail it was HAMMERED into me that customer service was the most important aspect of repeat business.
I try my best to support small local business in my city... but when the customer service stinks or they hire kids who know nothing about the products they're selling, I get so infuriated.
If I'm going to a specialty store for a specific product that this store only carries... you would expect the people behind the counter to know/understand their products.
Instead all I got was a pimply faced blank stare from someone who was up all night playing World of Warcraft. When I contacted the manager to calmly discuss my issues with his employees he was SUCH A JERK. Customer service people!! Customer service. I don't want you to jump through hoops and kiss my ass but I do want you to be glad I'm patronizing your store and give me quality service.
Bah.
This rant was brought to you buy Crispy Cat Candy Bars... the only candy bar to help Sarah feel better after a terrible shopping experience.

I saw Paul Anka today eating an ice cream cone and shopping in the lingerie department at The Bay. God damn... he's a good looking man. I should have asked to take a photo with him...I always regret things when I let my shy side decide my course of action.

Terra Nostra
At the Vancouver Veg fair I was able to try a Terra Nostra chocolate bar. I was VERY excited to see that they had Rice Milk chocolate bars... boy are they ever yum. I can't even remember the last time I had milk chocolate.

Thank you so much Vancouver! I had a great time at the Earthsave veg fair. I got to meet a lot of great people, eat some amazing food, hang out with my parents and best of all my hubby came with me. We had really fun road trip.
